Dance and music, love and laughter, and a whole lot of
happy tears — there was all this and more as
Kajal Aggarwal tied the knot with
Gautam Kitchlu on Friday. The wedding, which took place at a hotel in Mumbai, was an intimate affair with just around 50 guests in attendance. As the Aggarwal-Kitchlu families decided to wrap up the wedding festivities in two days, there was a “mini sangeet” hosted on the morning of the wedding.
Emotions were running high at the Aggarwal household as Kajal’s relatives huddled around the bride-to-be.
When
Hyderabad Times reached out to Kajal’s sister
Nisha Aggarwal, she was just about to get into the sangeet. “We’re all feeling a bit emotional right now. The D-day is finally here. Kajal is set to begin a new journey with Gautam and we couldn’t be more thrilled,” she told us.
Kajal’s friends and family members had initially planned to surprise her with their performances at the sangeet, but the bride-to-be caught them rehearsing, rues Nisha. “Sadly, that won’t be a surprise anymore ‘cos it wasn’t long before she found out that we were up to something. That said, we’ve all decided to make little speeches for Kajal after the sangeet, and that’s something she won’t be expecting,” shared Nisha, adding, “The highlight of the sangeet will be Ishaan’s (Kajal’s three-year-old nephew) special performance for his maasi. This is his first big wedding, so he’s been super excited. In fact, for the past few days his entire day has revolved around his Kajal maasi. He even wants to cut the wedding cake with his maasi (laughs). We just want to shower her with all our love.”
